Toyin Abraham’s Alakada Is Being Adapted To A Sitcom

Toyin Abraham Announces Alakada Is Being Adapted To A Sitcom

Nollywood actress/movie producer, Toyin Abraham, took to her Instagram page to announce her 2010 hit movie, Alakada, is now being made into a sitcom. You’d recall Alakada was the movie that brought Toyin Abraham recognition in the movie industry. Even though the movie has seen two sequels already, one in 2013 and another in 2019, it looks like the actress-cum-producer isn’t at all convinced she has maximized her brainchild fully.

Alakada follows the life of a young girl from a poor family, Yetunde, who has developed an inferiority complex, believing the only way to rise above her situation is to fake it until she makes it. The series, written by Olukayode Aderigbigbe and Adekunle Sajawu will run for 26 episodes. No further details have been released about the series yet.

How and why this decision came to be is one we might never find out. Will the decision turn out as a smart one or not? Our fingers are crossed.
