LowlaDee’s ‘This Is It’ Set For Second Season

LowlaDee’s This Is It Set For Second Season

If you are familiar with the Nigerian web entertainment scene, then I would be justified to assume you already know or have at least heard the name ‘Lowladee’ before now. Adeleke Adedolapo, of the Brave short movie fame, is one of the emerging younger generation of Nigerian filmmakers. A writer, director, producer, and editor, Lowladee is, without doubt, a talented and hard-working filmmaker whose name is certainly on the path of becoming etched into the annals of the Nigerian movie industry.

Last year Lowladee released her web series, This Is It, to widespread acclaim. The series was entirely written and directed by Lowladee herself. In my opinion, the show was one of the best indigenous drama web shows released online last year. It’s no surprise it made it on the list of drama web series to catch up on.

This Is It revolves around the life of newlyweds, Tomide and Dede as they go through their first year as a couple. Contrary to the lofty expectations they had as regards married life, they are, in no time, faced with curved-ball situations. The drama ensues as they are in no way prepared for the rude awakening life hits them with. Throughout the show, we see them navigate the unpleasant realities of married life and endure situations that put their marital resolve to the test. It is particularly interesting and notable how they seem to come to most of their resolutions inexpertly. They are mostly either winging it or simply allowing instinct take its place.

The ten episode long pilot season of the show stars Nick Mutuma, Chiagoziem Nwakanma, Stan Nze, Bimbo Ademoye, Bukola Oladipupo, Teni Aladese, Chisom Ofor, Olumide Oworu, Joyce Maina, Linda Osifo, Ben Touitou, Kunle Coker, Tosan Ugbeye, Asa’ah Samuel and a few others

Like its maiden season, the second and also the final season of the show will be making a September return. The new season, which will also run for ten episodes, is set to premiere on the 26th of September 2017. Season two of the show will in similar fashion spread across ten episodes. Ensure to catch all the drama on Lowladee’s YouTube page, LowladeeTV.
